WebSep 7, 2024 · O-Ring vs. Inverted flare on power steering box I just ordered a borgeson box that takes o-ring style fittings but also comes with the adapters for inverted flare. I already have hoses with 6AN so I am asking which would be the preferred way to go, o-ring or inverted flare? My gut tells me inverted but thought I'd ask the pros. We went with SAE 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) OD line for the simple reason the end flare fit the Toyota boss perfectly. Tubing of 6 mm OD line size (same as original) would not fit, the ends were too big.
