Normally I would expect upstream Steam to have all needed libraries sort of statically shipped with but maybe this is not possible for some libraries due to license issues or maybe this is just a bug.

WebHave you tried starting steam from the terminal? Is there any additional output to the error? Could you please post your "ldd" library list. So we can cross check it and see if there is maybe an outdated library used. I tried opening steam from the terminal without luck.
